 The Annual Clothing-Optional Skydiving Weekend at Sunny Rest Resort isn’t just about jumping out of a plane. It’s a full summer experience designed for adventure-seekers, naturists, first-timers, and curious bucket-listers alike.

Here’s exactly how it works — and what you can expect.

All skydives are operated in partnership with Skydive Pegasus, a professional skydiving team with licensed tandem instructors and certified equipment.

Each tandem jumper:

• Receives pre-jump ground instruction and safety briefing
• Is securely harnessed to a licensed tandem instructor
• Uses FAA-compliant and regularly inspected equipment
• Follows standard USPA safety procedures
• Jumps only in appropriate weather conditions

You do not need prior experience. In fact, almost all of our participants are first-time tandem jumpers.

Clothing-optional means optional.

Participants may choose to jump clothing-optional, partially clothed, or fully suited — whatever feels right to you. The same goes for enjoying the resort throughout the weekend.

There is no pressure, no expectation, and no judgment. If you do choose to jump fully naked, be aware that you will be landing in a grassy field - remember you will be strapped to a (fully clothed) professional tandem instructor so they do the majority of the work with the landing- you'll just be asked to lift your legs. 

We’ve welcomed:

• Naturists traveling in from other resorts
• Experienced skydivers curious about a unique specialty weekend
• Couples crossing off a shared bucket-list item (this is a big one!)
• Solo travelers looking for adventure and instant community
• Guests who don’t jump but come for the energy and events
• And of course, Sunny Rest members, residents and regular visitors

Some attendees travel from multiple states away. Many return year after year.

The reason? It’s not just the jump. It’s the atmosphere.

This event is intentionally capped to maintain safety, flow, and quality of experience. That means you’re not lost in a massive crowd. You’re part of something personal and well-coordinated.

After each jump, participants land to cheering friends and fellow guests. The shared excitement becomes part of the story. There’s something powerful about conquering fear together and then celebrating together.

This weekend blends adrenaline with acceptance.

While the skydiving is the centerpiece, the weekend schedule at Sunny Rest makes this one of the most energetic summer gatherings of the season.

Dirty Game Night kicks off the weekend at 6pm with quirky relay-style competitions and lighthearted challenges. It’s weird, competitive, and full of laughter — a perfect icebreaker.

Open Mic with Todd brings out the performers and song stylists.
Glow Jam with DJ Marky Mark lights up the night.
Plus 50% off domestic draft beer and well drinks until midnight.

Jump during the day. Celebrate at night.

Poolside music with Damian sets the afternoon vibe.
Naked yoga at noon offers grounding before evening festivities.
Karaoke from 5–9 PM.
Live band “Twisted Charm” takes the stage at 9:30 PM.

Saturday is peak summer energy at Sunny Rest.

Poolside music with Brian from 3–7 PM.
Cornhole Tournament hosted by Corby of The Naked Nomads at 5 PM.

It’s the perfect way to wind down an unforgettable weekend.

Not at all.

Many guests come for the community, the music, the games, and the resort experience. Some decide to jump after watching others land. Some simply enjoy cheering from the ground.

You can participate as much or as little as you like.

Safety is the priority.

Jumps are conducted only under appropriate weather conditions. Instructors are licensed and experienced. Equipment is professionally maintained and inspected.

If you are physically able to ride a rollercoaster and meet standard tandem requirements, you can typically skydive. Full eligibility details are provided during registration.

Participants consistently describe the same feeling:

Standing at the edge of the aircraft door.
Letting go.
Freefalling.
Landing safely.
Then celebrating poolside hours later.

Guests can book full weekend stays or day passes through the Sunny Rest booking site. Jump slots are limited and scheduled in advance. Early registration is strongly recommended.

This event has grown each year, and we expect 2026 to be our biggest yet.
